Southwest Florida Gulf Homes and Land

Florida Gulf Coastal Real Estate

Gasparilla island FloridaThe coast of southwest Florida is lined with barrier islands. In this area, the most well known of these barrier islands is Garparilla Island, where the town of Boca Grande is located. These barrier islands have miles of pristine beaches. Some of our barrier islands, while inhabited, are only accessible by boat. This includes Little Gasparilla Island, Thornton Key, and Palm/Knight/Don Pedro Island, although there is a ferry that services the latter. These islands/keys all have the Gulf of Mexico on their western perimeter and Lemon Bay on their eastern perimeter.

Venice Island is the most northern of these barrier islands, with the Gulf of Mexico on the west and the Intracoastal Waterway on its east.

There are 2 public-access beaches: Manasota Beach and Blind Pass Beach. The northern end has the feel of Captiva Island.

The southern half is made up of low-rise condos, single-family homes on smaller lots, and the island's commercial section of restaurants, shops, and rental properties. There are 2 public-access beaches: Englewood Beach and Stump Pass Beach. The southern end has the feel of Bonita Beach or Fort Myers Beach.
